Course Description:
In this class, students will explore social psychology principles that relate to decision making and exercising judgment within the dynamics of the professional legal workplace. The seminar will cover both intrapersonal and interpersonal principles as they relate to the practice of law, particularly from the perspective of the new attorney’s workplace dynamics. Students will study decision making biases and heuristics, the impact of social influences in exercising professional judgment, and decision making within the legal work group hierarchies that exist in practice. To prepare students to work collaboratively in the legal profession students will be required to complete a team assignment.
