Course Description:
This class will meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30 pm - 4:25 pm June 1 through June 27. The final exam will be administered at 1:30 pm Wednesday, June 29.

The course is an overview of the laws applicable to the employment relationship. Subjects addressed include employment at will and job security, regulated discrimination in employment (Title VII, ADA, ADEA), employee privacy and protection from instrusive employment practices, employee duties and promises (duty of loyalty, trade secrets, covenants not to compete) and regulation of compensation and benefits (Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act). This course does not focus on labor law or concerted activities of employees.
