This course reviews the broad sources, scope, and limitations of tribal, state, and federal civil jurisdiction in Indian Country, including what is Indian country, how does the doctrine of sovereign immunity impact jurisdiction, and what role do the Indian Civil Rights Act and tribal bill of rights play.
