Course Description:
This class will begin with a meeting in January from 12:15 - 2:15 pm to outline the format of the course and to discuss the principles of Indian sales and use tax issues embodied in the assigned reading materials. Individual meetings and counseling will continue as needed throughout the semester.

This Research Cluster will focus on the applicability of sales and use taxes to goods purchased on Indian reservations by the Tribe and Tribal members. Small group meetings will be scheduled during the semester. Students will research and complete a white paper on the focus area of this course and present their findings to representatives from Arizona's Indian tribal governments. This Research Cluster will be limited to 8 students. Preference will be given to third-year students that have taken federal Indian I and federal Indian law II.
