Course Description:
Business Torts is a 3-credit course that covers commercial tort claims frequently asserted in business litigation. Unlike the first-year torts class, which focuses on conduct that causes physical injury or damage to property, the focus of Business Torts is on conduct that causes economic or dignitary harm. Relevant topics include fraud, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, professional malpractice, misappropriation, interference with contract and economic advantage, economic loss rules, defamation, product disparagement, and misuse of judicial process.
