Course Description:
This course explores the law governing politics and elections in the United States. We will examine a variety of topics, including the Constitution and its protection of the right to vote, the Voting Rights Act, gerrymandering, campaign finance, and election administration. Throughout the course, we will analyze the tradeoffs that policymakers and citizens must consider when crafting election laws and shaping a democracy. A solid foundation in Constitutional Law is strongly recommended.
