Course Description:
This course will meet from May 13 - May 17, 2024 from 1:30 - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Your first legal job can be exciting, but also intimidating. In this one-week course, you will learn the practical skills necessary for summer employment, including making research logs, crafting terms-and-connectors searches, using secondary sources, and locating primary authority. You will also learn about legal citation, local court rules, and functions in Microsoft Office and Adobe that are frequently used in the legal profession. The course is designed to teach the skills most relevant for success at law offices, judicial chambers, government agencies, and public-service organizations.
