Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, International Peace Institute CEO and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, accepted SLS's Ralston Prize in International Law on May 23. He discussed human rights with Prof. Gulika Reddy and, later, spoke about "Memory and Moral Consistency."

... The prize "is intended to recognize original and distinguished contributions to the development of the role of law in international relations." Congratulations, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein.

William Gould, the Charles A. Beardsley Professor of Law, Emeritus, recently sat down for a Legal Aggregate Q&A titled, "The UAW Vote in Alabama and the Future of Unions in the US."

"The union won’t give up. Even if the UAW doesn’t try to get these results reversed ...on the grounds that illegal company behavior made the exercise of employee free choice unlikely, another election can be held in 12 months and the campaign will be ongoing," said Professor Gould. Yesterday, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, head of the International Peace Institute and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, came to campus for the day to accept the Jackson H. Ralston Prize in International Law. At SLS, Al Hussein participated in a lunch Q&A, presented a lecture, and ...interacted with students and faculty at an evening reception. Congratulations, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein!

SLS's Nora Freeman Engstrom spent 5+ years collaborating with fellow ALI reporters to identify and clearly state the law of medical malpractice in the United States. Their Restatement of Torts was announced this week. Congratulations, Professor Engstrom!
