Complete Description:
This workshop features lectures and hands-on exercises that guide participants through an intensive examination of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) with a focus on its application to combatants and civilians. Sessions will be led by legal professionals from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the American Red Cross, law professors and international law practitioners.

Topics include:
• IHL principles
• Conflict classification
• Means and methods of warfare
• Protection of civilians under IHL
• Non-state actors and direct participation in
hostilities
• Enforcement of IHL
