The Holiday Season is upon us. It is a time to celebrate, to give thanks, to renew relationships. It is a time to create magic, to believe, to put a smile on a child’s face. However, for some families, the holiday season is stressful. It becomes a time to worry, to cry, to loose faith and hope. For these children it is a time to stop believing, because sometimes Santa can’t afford to visit all children.
The Diane Halle Center for Family Justice, the National Advocacy and Training Network/SEEDs, and the Coalition to End Arizona Sexual Exploitation work with families affected by domestic and sexual violence. These families often struggle to pay rent and buy food, let alone having money to buy their children presents. For these children, Christmas morning doesn’t always mean presents under the tree. This Holiday Season we want to make sure that all of the families we work with can have the holiday experiences many of us take for granted. We want to make sure that all of these children receive a present from Santa so they can continue believing in the magic of Christmas for another year.
