Abstract
The Arizona Farm Labor Law was drafted as a measure to restrain the volatility of agricultural labor relations in Arizona. The law has engendered heated political debate and provided a moving force for the petition to recall the Governor of Arizona. The law has not, however, been subjected to rigid analysis, free of political exaggeration. This Article, therefore, undertakes a careful functional examination of the Act, comparing its provisions to related provisions in federal labor law and discussing its applicability to the particular circumstances prevalent in Arizona's agriculture industry. The Article places special emphasis on the Act's practical effect on union organizing and on the overall balance between employer interests and employee rights in Arizona's agricultural labor relations.
