Abstract
Regional legal writing conferences have increased in popularity in recent years, and with good reason. First, they are relatively easy to host; they can be coordinated in just a few months, and they last only a day or two. Second, they provide numerous benefits to the participants, to their institutions, and to the profession. Benefits to attendees include hearing from nationally known experts, having a low cost educational opportunity, creating presentation opportunities for faculty teaching legal method, and networking. The host law school also benefits from the increased exposure of its program and personnel. Most significantly, regional legal writing conferences benefit the profession by creating a forum for the exchange of ideas related to teaching, scholarship, and service.
