Abstract

This article offers observations about how the compliance and enforcement process works in college athletics. From time to time, this process is propelled into the public eye, often with considerable misunderstanding. This article discusses the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Committee on Infractions and the process for adjudicating whether a school has violated the Association’s rules and what penalties the school should receive for committing them.
