Course Description:
This course will explore the laws applicable to international contractual relations, focusing heavily on the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Along the way, we will touch on a few other topics, such as choice of law rules, a comparison of selected UCC sections with CISG provisions, and a comparison of the contract law of selected foreign nations with that in the United States, and --time permitting-- a brief introduction to international commercial arbitration. The final grade will be based primarily on a final exam and secondarily on possible periodic quizzes.
