Course Description:
Students learn trial advocacy by performing opening statements, direct and cross-examination, objections, motions to the Court, final arguments and other aspects of trial practice. Lectures will include viewing videos of high profile trials and examples of courtroom presentations from real cases. The course culminates in a mock jury trial in Federal Court presided over by a Judge. Students will also learn how to use courtroom technology for displaying or playing evidentiary exhibits or visual aids and will be asked to use this technology during their classroom and courtroom presentations.

Students may not enroll in the Criminal Practice Clinic in the same semester in which they take Trial Advocacy.
