Charles W. Herf is a retired partner in the labor and
employment group of Quarles & Brady LLP.
He has been practicing law for more than 42 years, specializing in labor
and employment and business litigation.
He is listed in Southwest Super
Lawyers (2007-2009 - Employment & Labor); Chambers USA (2004-present: Labor & Employment); and The Best Lawyers in America (2005-present:
Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Education Law, Labor and
Employment Law).
Professor Herf is serving a three-year term as the Lawyer
Representative to the U.S. Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit. He also has served
as an adjunct professor at Northern Arizona University. He is active in the
Alternative Dispute Resolution area serving as an Arizona Superior Court Judge
Pro Tem for more than 20 years, an arbitrator for the American Arbitration
Association and Financial Industry Neutral Regulatory Association, and as a
hearing officer for the State of Arizona Personnel Board.
Professor Herf has authored an article entitled, “Preparing
for Alternative Dispute Resolution Cases.” He has lectured extensively to state
and national educational groups, professional groups, and human resource
groups. He has published numerous articles for various professional educational
groups, and spoken extensively on employment related and security related
issues.
