Janie Magruder joined the College of Law in 2006 from The Arizona Republic, where she was a senior reporter who covered myriad beats including breaking news, city and state government, business, workplace issues, health care and parenting. She previously was a business journalist at the Arizona Business Gazette in Phoenix, a local and state education reporter at the Mesa Tribune, and a City Hall and legislative reporter at the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph.  

Magruder has won awards for her reporting in 2006 about the national childhood obesity epidemic.  

She is the proud mother of three sons, and enjoys yoga, books, dogs and astronomy
