Jon M. Sands has been the Federal Public Defender for the District of Arizona since 2003, and has worked in that office since 1987. He teaches courses in Trial Advocacy and Federal Criminal Practice and Procedure at the College of Law.
Professor Sands has served as Special Counsel to the United States Sentencing Commission, and prior to joining the Federal Public Defender's Office, he was with the Phoenix law firm of Meyer, Hendricks, Victor, Osborn and Maledon.
Professor Sands is a former president of the Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice.
