Lawrence E. Wilk is a Shareholder at Jaburg & Wilk,
P.C., in Phoenix. He has practiced law for more than 31 years and has
established a successful practice assisting institutional clients, business
owners and receivers in the areas of foreclosure, financial fraud, Ponzi scheme
litigation, bankruptcy litigation, workouts, and creditor rights
representation.
Professor Wilk’s expertise in Ponzi schemes and multi-level
marketing is unique. He has been involved in several of the largest cases in
the Southwest, including the Baptist Foundation, American National Mortgage
Partners, CSC Financial Services and Jewelway International. He has served as
counsel for receivers appointed in federal court actions initiation by the
Federal Trade Commission and in state courts initiated by the Arizona
Corporation Commission and Banking Commissions.
As president and a registered lobbyist for the Arizona
Trustee’s Association, Professor Wilk sought legislative reform in the
foreclosure industry. In addition to conducting hundreds of foreclosures, he
was involved in several seminal cases which clarified the law and still serve
as precedent today. He is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy, receiverships,
Ponzi schemes and workout topics. He currently sits on the Board of Directors
for the Arizona Sports Authority.
